I’m quite sure there is no one in my circle of friends and acquaintances who has a skin that is as sensitive as mine. I had struggles with my skin for ages and having blemishes and redness every second or third week made me angry and depressed.
I tested chemical products prescribed by my dermatologist, ph-neutral products and so on. Nothing was sustainably successful.
After an almost endless search I found products (maybe not the most typical ones) who make my skin look healthy. It feels better and irritations and blemishes are mostly gone.
As everyone has a different type of skin I’m well aware of the fact that there is no guarantee the products I use are perfect for everyone but I hope it helps at least some of you.
If you have any other tips/ideas that might help others please feel free to share!
Yes Fenistil is what helped me the most. My skin looks better since I use it and it helps instantly within one or two days. Fenistil contains dimetindene which is an antihistamine used to treat itching, skin irritations, allergic reactions and so on. Usually Fenistil is used to soothe itching caused by insect bites or sunburns but it is also very helpful for skin irritations. It can be applied up to four times a day to the affected skin areas and is absorbed immediately. I use it in the morning and in the evening. It also helped me to get ride off some skin irritations on my back.

Vitamine E – overnight serum-in-oil
To help my skin look rested and fresh in the morning I’m using this serum-oil mixture to recharge my skin overnight. It’s very fast absorbing and you only need one or two drops. Vitamin E is an antioxidant and helps to prevent wrinkles and other skin damage. It’s also a great moisturiser and suitable for all skin types 💁♀️. (Body shop product)
Aloe soothing night cream
Unfortunately Fenistil is not hydrating your skin. To hydrate my skin I use the night cream from Body shop, containing Aloe Vera. It’s not fragranced and there are no additional ingredients so it is not causing any irritation due to incompatible cosmetic constituents. It feels a bit oily at the beginning but just for some minutes until your skin starts to absorb the cream. Aloe Vera regenerates cells and calms the skin. It leaves a pleasant sensation on the skin to fall asleep with ✨.
(I use this combined with the Vitamine E serum)
Australian Tea Tree Oil
This oil is pure magic! And it’s all natural! Australian tea tree oil is used for a lot of treatments (f.e against acne, mosquito bites, blisters, dandruff etc.). You just have to apply it on the affected areas, only a very small amount is needed. This oil is well known as an excellent emergency treatment as you can see an improvement of the skin appearance within a few days (sometimes within hours).
The best about it? You can’t do anything wrong. The oil is not worsen your symptoms for sure, the worst-case scenario is that your skin remains unchanged but in most cases this oil works wonders!

Last but not least…
What I also did was changing my nutrition over the past years. I maintain a balanced diet, I changed from eating a lot of sweets and pasta everyday to fruits and vegetables. Seriously until three years ago I was not eating any vegetables – today I love them! I’m eating vegetables and fruits on a daily basis and I feel so much more vital and healthier. That doesn’t mean you have to stop eating sweets forever – I live in Switzerland, I love chocolate 😍 but eat less of it. Instead of a snickers take an apple, or nectarine or whatever is around. Fruits and vegetables contain many important vitamins and minerals. You will not only look better but also feel better after some weeks. It’s hard to say no to sweets and burgers and all those things at the beginning but once your body gets used to your new nutrition it will become naturally.
I hope this is a help for some of you. If you combine some of these products with a healthy lifestyle and a healthy nutrition it can hopefully help you to get a better looking skin. Don’t be disappointed if your skin appearance doesn’t change from one day to the other. I was looking for “my” solution for years but it’s worth it! 🧖♀️
